Dr. O’Leary is a New Jersey licensed psychologist who has training and experience in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She has treated adults with a variety of presenting concerns in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. O’Leary’s professional interests include mood disorders, post-traumatic stress, relationship concerns, women’s health issues, and grief and loss.

Dr. O’Leary received a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University, a Master’s degree from Columbia University- Teacher’s College, and her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Connecticut.

Prior to joining Shore Neuropsychology and Behavioral Health, Dr. O’Leary worked as a Staff Psychologist at Rutgers University Counseling, ADAP, and Psychiatric Services. While at CAPS, she provided individual and group psychotherapy, crisis assessment, and community outreach services. She received certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and was a member of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy-informed treatment program.

Dr. O’Leary completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship within the Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System. Here she conducted assessments and provided both individual and group treatment within the PTSD and Substance Abuse Treatment programs, as well as the Acute Psychiatry Unit. She also completed a rotation in Geropsychology, where she provided services in a long-term care/rehabilitation facility to those with degenerative neurological disorders, as well as veterans recovering from acute medical illness.

Dr. O’Leary has conducted research that has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. She has educational training and experience supervising doctoral psychology students. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the New Jersey Psychological Association.

Dr. O’Leary brings warmth, compassion, and a strong skill set to every person she treats. She strives to foster a meaningful therapeutic relationship, as she believes that is an essential component of psychotherapy. Dr. O’Leary works in a highly collaborative and active way, providing an accepting environment to identify goals and realistic approaches to change.
