Karen Mulgrum is a licensed clinical social worker who specializing in adult, children and adolescent behavioral and mental health. Karen’s field of study at Ramapo College was children and family, where she received her Bachelor’s in social work in 2000. She continued this focus as she attended Rutgers University of New Jersey, where she received her master in social work specializing in clinical social work in 2005.

In her career she has addressed the needs of families and children affected by divorce, dysfunctional family system, and mental health and behavioral problems, relationship issues, and trauma. She also has experience with adults and children whom have been diagnosed with ADHD, major depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar, and adjustment disorders. Karen’s therapeutic approach to treatment is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral and Solution Focused Therapy

Her professional experience and education over the years includes advocating for the mentally ill, engaging family and service providers and assisting clients develop crisis management, daily living and coping skills. Her employment in private practice, non-profit agencies and with in-home wrap around service providers has developed an expertise in helping youth and families to advocate for themselves and reach personal goals.

Karen also has a Disaster Response Crisis Counselor (DRCC) certification, through the state of New Jersey and is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
